How it works
From first call to a running CFO function
The whole point of a productized service is that you know what happens next. Here is the sequence, in order.
- 01
A call, and an honest fit check
Thirty minutes. You describe the business and what you’re trying to decide; we tell you which plan fits — or that you’re not ready yet, and what to fix first. No deck, no pressure.
- 02
Engagement letter, in writing
Scope and fee written down and signed electronically before anything starts. The letter says plainly what the work is and what it is not — no tax preparation, no audit or assurance.
- 03
Your portal, and the CFO organizer
You get a private client portal. The first thing in it is the Fractional CFO Organizer — about fifteen minutes on how the business earns, where the cash goes, what’s owed, and what you’re steering toward. It saves as you go.
- 04
We read the business
We work from your actual records — financial statements, bank activity, debt schedule, commitments. If the books need work before the numbers can carry weight, we say so before building anything on top of them.
- 05
The working session
Usually ninety minutes. You walk us through the business; we ask the awkward questions. This is where the first forecast’s assumptions come from — yours, not ours.
- 06
The rhythm starts
The forecast and KPI dashboard arrive on schedule, with a short written view each month: what changed, what it means, and what we would do. Strategy sessions run at your plan’s cadence — quarterly, monthly, or weekly.
What we'll ask you for
Financial statements for the last two years and the current year, bank and card statements, a debt schedule, your fixed commitments, and read-only access to your accounting file. Send what you have — we'd rather start with an incomplete picture than wait for a perfect one. We work from financial totals only: never send customer lists with personal details or any clinical, legal, or otherwise confidential records about the people you serve.
